Nature Quest is an "activities approach" to environmental education developed by the National Wildlife Federation and offered by certified instructors. Over the course of the program - from one day up to seven days in length - participants engage in a wide range of activities which take place on the mountain, under the stars, inside the caves, beside the streams, and beneath the trees. |
Why would your group come to Nature Quest?
A trip to Nature Quest gives the members of your group the opportunity to try new things, to learn old things in new ways, and to discover the three "R's" - Respect, Responsibility, and Reverence.
"Must we always teach . . . with books?
Let them look at the mountains and the stars above.Let them look at the beauty of the waters
and the trees and the flowers of the earth.
They will then begin to think, and to think
is the beginning of real education."What is the goal of Nature Quest?
The goal for participants is two-fold: to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to learn about and explore the out-of-doors and to appreciate and value the delicate ecosystem upon which all our lives depend. In a classroom without walls, we cover various aspects of math, science, social studies and humanities. Since each group's goal is unique, the directors work closely with the group leaders to develop the course best suited to their needs.
